South Africa: Zebras

There is just something about these black and white striped characters that does not get old. We came across multiple clusters of zebras every day during our one week adventure in Madikwe Game Reserve and each time, they caught my attention.

While their bodies bear a striking resemblance to horses, it is said that their backs are quite weak. Perhaps this is one reason they were never domesticated to be used for work and transport as horses were. Helps to keep the mystery alive…
